Is ComicColors.com still around?

Postby Jason Robinson » Wed Sep 17, 2003 9:53 pm

Haven't been here for awhile, unfortunately, so I'm outta the loop. It may've already been discussed, but: Is the old ComicColors.com website still active? I tried to go to it, but didn't get anywhere. Can anybody bring me up to speed? Thanks!

It's been down for about a week, and on life support for even longer... I suspect we won't be seeing it up again.

RIP Comiccolors... and thanks for everything.

:( I have tried getting ahold of Eric a couple of times since starting up Gutterzombie, but never heard back from him. It would be a terrible shame to lose all the tutorials and crits from the site.

I'll try to get in touch with him again, and maybe pull his archive or something. if he's really shutting it down.

Looks like new tutorials will need to be made. CC.com played host to them, but many were outdated, lacked info, or could stand to be updated.

Dave, any chance we could setup a tutorial section on the site?

yep. that's the plan...

it would be nice to get the archives from CC and save some time tho.

Laura and Sweeney had some good tuts and crits, amongst other people.

I am pretty busy right now with my move, but I want to sit down in the next week or two and plan out the next phase of this site. A tutorial section is def. going to be a part of that.

Cool. It is sad to see CC go. That is where I learned how to do what I do. (Flat, that is.) there was a lot of good advice and tutorials in the archives that never ended up in the tutorial section. Especially from Sweeny and Laura. I know some people used to pdf the threads, anybody here still have them?

I still have two flatting tutorials on my website (Flatting Inks, and one for flatting Pencils).

I'll have to look through my stuff and see if I can find anything else I had.

Looking....

Found Laura's Nighttime tutorial from CC...

Found Laura's Shadow Conditions tutorial...

Found Laura's (again.... she must know a thing or two about coloring  ) Cuts - the leg, and Cuts - Chromes tutorials

And found one of mine that was PDF'd on CC (but I just have the html formatting & pics for) - the Batman crit and coloring the head & face comments by myself and (drumroll please...) Laura.
