I've done pre-built PHP sites and forums, so I know what you're going through. It can be fun, if you've got the right music going.

I think I broke my gutterzombie! Just kidding. It's very similar to the old setup. Haven't checked out too many things though. One crit I will give though is I think the avatars, (showing who is posting) should stay on the left. It's the more common choice on any kind of messageboard, and functionally speaking, we read left to right. It's nice to identify the person first, then read their words as if from their online personality, instead of reading the message and then putting it into the context of who's saying it. Of course all it takes is a glance, but it feels unnatural to start to read a message, then glance to the other side of it to see who it is, then go back to the left again to start reading again.

I think we'll leave the avatars on the right hand side for a while, and change them over if we continue to miss them on the left. PHPBB 3.0 has them by default on the right. I figure there may be a reason for it, and figure we should give it a go before scripting it back to the old position.

(Though my money is on switching it back)
