Wallpaper in progress

Because I'm striving to make this one of the best things I've done lately: wanted to share for ripping and shreddings. Step one: did I get 'er right.

I think it's lovely! I love the eyes.

Do you intend to colour this? I think it'd look great with soft pinks, peaches and purples.:)

Thanks! I'm not too sure about the lips, though. My own face is slightly lopsided so I guess I subconsciously do it to my chars.

I was thinking soft colors, too. This character's theme colors happen to be pinks and purples but the uniform she's wearing is red. I'm also thinking of taking each butterfly and putting tiny scenes in each one. (One could have a fountain, another a moon, etc.)

What I'm really going to need advice on is making them really look like they're popping out of the .. whatsit called... the... thing around her neck.

That's a cool idea.

They already looking like they're coming out of her scarf, so I don't think you should have trouble getting that across with colour. Maybe just colour hold the wings all the same colour to unify the butterflies as a single group?

Muffler. It's a muffler. I was thinking of a winter background at the time. But I could change it to a scarf and bam. It's spring. :-)

Yes, I was just thinking about color holds for the wings. I was also thinking of making the smaller ones more in the background with a color hold and then doing faint shapes to suggest even more farther back. Because I've NO CLUE what sort of background to give this one.

Looks good so far. I like the idea of the butterflies coming off the scarf. I think you should break the line of the scarf on the left, where it crosses the wings, to emphasize the idea. Like a magic butterfly scarf.

Oh! Of course! I tend to get so caught up in lines, I never think of such tiny little details. I'll try it.

Unsure of the background still, I carry forward. I wasn't going to flat yet, but I can't sleep. Lines thinned as suggested. I might have thinned too much.
