Thanks.
I never liked 'buff spidey' either.

Here's some more stuff in no particular order.

I didn't care for/had some problems with the pin up I started after I had some things pointed out and some time to get some fresh perspective on it, so I came up with some alternate ideas.
Or rather, some variation on the same different idea.

I like the first one a lot, with Wolvie's foot in the foreground. Awesome perspective and motion.

Great sketches Dave.

I really like the second version.

The first one has Wolverine splayed out, and at the apex of action. (Which is honestly boring) By SHOWING the height of action, the viewer doesn't need to use their imagination at all. The image is less engaging then. the 2nd and 3rd versions both show the scene "right" before the action really takes place. The instant before, and not the standing around posing, or charging into battle that many images are as well. Nailing the moment before, or after an high point of action is awesome. The viewer is engaged to fill in the blanks of what happened themselves.
Nailing the height of action in an action panel of course makes sense. Like the above panel with Spiderman vs Reptile. In the panel, you want people to see and understand exactly what is happening instantly. some panels can be more reflective and show moments like I was talking about before, if the story calls for it. But a pinup and cover, are inherently more involved. You need to tell an entire story with one image. And, as I said, hitting the high point of action, you don't, all you tell is that one instant of story.

I like the second one more then the third, because wolverine is counter to Hulk's position. Angled in opposite directions. And wolverine pulls our eye down and into the middle of the image.

Thanks for the feedback!

I went with the pose that Mike suggested.

Ah, its the DarkAvenger guy. haha.
You changed the direction of the big dudes hair. His head is pulled back, but the hair now is flowing back and out as if hes moving forward still.

I would also consider changing the debris down at the bottom. I think if the lines of the debris below the big guy were more vertical, and as we moved left they spiraled to flat, it would catch the eye and move it to the right and hit a wall there. If that made any sense without me drawing what Im thinking.

Speed lines showing what I think the debris should enforce.

Yeah, that made sense.
Unfortunately I had left for SDCC on Tuesday and didn't see this post. :shake:
Appreciated though.

No one really had anything bad to say about what I had. A couple people really liked that it was their kids. So yay for novelty points.

No job offers though, or portfolio selections for review in their 'raffles' either. :knob:

Been doing some stuff, but not allowed to show most of it for various reasons. So here's mostly what I did for fun.
The second is the 2nd in a series of 5 or 6 I did for a friend.

Is that last inked one Selene? it looks kind of like Crain's recent treatment of her, and it is *awesome*. (well all of your work here is, actually :ice: )
