how's the final release of phpbb3?
i figured it was worth waiting through the RC's to get to the final release before upgrading my setup, but now that it's here, how is it? any awesome new things i should pay attention to? any bad stuff i should keep an eye out for? From a user's perspective, i quite like it.

Seems to be smooth sailing. BUT 100% of the three people I've talked to about it agree, The fact that you plain out can not use HTML in a post anymore and are forced to use BBCODE Licks the least appealing genital of your choice.

Awwwesome, someone's writing a new gallery script for PHPBB3, so I don't have to do it myself. Hooray for open source and my own procrastination. Should I install the working version and keep sticking in the updates as it goes? It might have some weird bugs at first, but at least it'll be a gallery. I ask because I am happy either way.

If we have a gallery, I am happy that there is a gallery.
If you guys are chickenhearted, I am happy that I don't have to do any work.

ZOMG! Dean Installed the gallery. (gotta make it pretty and match the site later, but it's in there.)

Sweet Deal, talked to the gallery guy and he fixed it up so it lightboxes from the thumbnails now.

I fiddled with the lightbox CSS so that it's a nice black border instead of an eye jarring white border. Also fixed the next/previous image overlay arrows so that they actually display (you might have to force refresh so that it shows the nice black ones instead of the black "next" text on white.) Fixed the little jump that the Close button does on some browsers.

If anyone feels like poking around and letting me know if anything looks/behaves weird on windows or something now as a result please do so.

What would be nice is if there was a way to tell which images have comments on them so you can read them. Good work. Looks really nice.

links opening in the parent window/tab, vs a new window

this is one of the only boards that opens link in the parent window vs a new one. In many ways, i prefer new content to open elsewhere, because it ensures that when the reader has gone elsewhere and is finished, that when they close the window/tab, i am still around. in the case that they think to hit "back" and find themselves going no where, they can always close it and still find my site under there.

any reason in particular your board opens new content in the parent?
