does someone ever worked for bluewater and get paid?

i have seen several colorists who worked for bluewater but i dont know one who even get paid....so whats with you guys...do you worked for them..did the payed you in a fare rate?

As far as I know, when I was asked to color some Bluewater stuff, it was always a backend deal. I never did do any so I don't know if the titles ever make enough for the art team to get anything.

Their list of titles didn't interest me so I turned them down when they asked.

Some companies don't pay colorists until 30 days after completion of a project. I worked for a studio that claimed they weren't paid by Bluewater, but that studio rarely paid me for projects so I won't work for them anymore (I'd rather not say the name).

I did do lettering for Bluewater, but they told me it was a non-paid position. It was mainly for experience.

That was when Bluewater was with Alias though. So I don't know if they are paying people now.

This was in 2005-2006.

Not really money relevant, but I think it's relevant to their credibility.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Bluewater is like the 4th version of Tidal Wave Studios. Tidal Wave went bankrupt and I'm almost certain they didn't pay creators towards the end. There should be a couple guys on this board that would know. After it went bankrupt it was sold to Debbie Bishop's company and then Darren Davis worked for her on the same properties. I think it was a loophole not to have to pay out. I can't seem to find any of the press releases where the company went under or when it was sold. Like I said I could be wrong. The company definitely has a flakey history though.

I did a 14 character poster for them in 2005 which was supposedly used at comic cons. Took me hours and hours and never saw a cent for it. But it did get me "exposure" and that other thing called "experience"... but I have no idea how much exposure as I never went to the con it was at and so have no idea if they even mentioned my name
