Sweet, and good timing for me. I've recently been experimenting with a similar technique so this does help. I haven't seen my version of this looks like in print yet so I'm not sure how often I'll be using it but its nice to know that it works for you... have you encountered any problems with it when you see it in print? And you're right, its not quite color holds. I've been calling mine "uberholds" since I still have a separate layer with my traditional holds I needed something else to call it.
