Thanks, Michael! I still have to do a Sue Storm portrait to complete the set.

In the meantime though, I was kinda bored, so I did a little more work on this guy. I also threw some quick colors on him just for fun. There's a lot more work in the grey tones before I can really paint him. Anyway, the tattoo (just rough here), should look like it's coming out of his chest. The wispy things above him will be vine-like tattoo leaving his body, and "blooming." Strange? Oh well, I'm sticking with this to the end, I hope.

That one is creepy cool. All of these look great. I think my favorite stuff of yours is the one for illustration fridays. They have a nice magazine illustration style, are playful, simple(meaning easily understood), and work so well with your coloring style. I could totally see that tired guy drawing before an article about lack of sleep in america or something. Good stuff all around.

Whoa! That last one is amazing too! Reminds me of Kent Williams. I wanna see it done! Woot.

Nick - Thanks! I like doing those quick, cartoony spot illustrations. They seem to come fairly easy to me. But, I keep banging my head against the other, more realistic style, just to keep me from boredom.

Michael - Thanks! I agree about the Kent Williams feel to the piece. Now that I see it again at a smaller size, I'm going to repaint the head. I don't think it's capturing the emotion I'd like.

Do the Hustle!

My latest piece for Illustration Friday. The theme this time is "enough."

"He'd had enough of working the fields and tending the cattle for one day! He needed to move, to express himself!"

Here is my second submission for local zine "A Paw In My Face." This issue's theme is hate. Self hate, or something related, is the theme of this illustration. I've posted WIP versions earlier in the thread.

One more tonight. This is a color exploration of the faun piece I posted earlier. I wanted to try a different approach, and worked with scanned and layered textures, then painted into them. I think it's still a work in progress. I think I'll continue to work on it now and again to see if it surprises me with the direction it takes.

Awesome...love that doc-octopus! The illustration friday ones are still my fav...the one where you imported textures is pretty cool too only the unlimited amount of possiblities would probably make my head explode. It's bad enough working in pencil...then unlimited color choices...now unlimited texures :zombie: .

Thanks Nick! I'm hoping to do another Illustration Friday challenge this week.

Unlimited textures? Not on the faun. I had to dump a layer because it was taking too long to save, and using too much scratch disk. Sometimes simple is better.
