Forum for sketches, etc. Assume nudity will pop up in the sketch forum without needing an NSFW tag, but porn=boot.

Thanks Nick! Those photo based samples were from a while back now ( shows how much I neglected this thread :) ). Totally outgrown that phase....we're cartoonists right?

Here's todays and yesterdays daily sketches. I'm taking requests and my favourite one of the day I'll doodle and maybe colour...

I dig those! The zipatone is a nice touch on machineman....works well with the confident lines.

I like it! Wouldn't mind seeing the gun blasts bigger, or more substantial so they read more as gun blasts.

That one is nice! I agree with Chris about the gun blast.

Been through a rough patch recently with a family loss.

Trying to find my feet again.

I'm saddened to hear of your loss Ben. I hope you're doing well.

On the Odin piece the background conflicts too much with Odin. The line weights & patterns are similar, and there is at least one congruency that I can see--where the circle runs into the outline of Odin's head. These issues flatten the image out & don't give it as much impact as it could have. I would suggest dropping some of the lines out of the b/g patterns to make it less busy (or drop it into grey tones), or change the quality of the line to give it a different texture, move the b/g pattern so that Odin is more of the focus.

Seems like his staff could be more impressive--especially the top part. It also doesn't seem to be sitting in his hand properly. Some small changes and this will be an impressive piece. Keep posting!

Thanks for the kinds words Chris! Agreed with the background, but I'm pretty much done with it now.

Here's a 'cute' little superman piece:
