Silly String Prohibited.
I hit the Channel 101 screening in Hollywood tonight to have a last night out with some of my pals and catch some cool short films. Channel 101 is a great concept where you have a month to make a short "pilot" tv show, 5 minutes long or less. If it's any good, it gets shown with a pile of others at 2 screenings in one night, and if it's one of the 5 best you get to make another episode. Great low budget quickly done weekend fun.

Anyway, outside of Cinespace where we parked was this sign, letting us know that around Hallowe'en LA has decided that Silly String is "illegal" and you could be "fined $1,000" note the quotes. I think that basically means that they can just "make laws up" and "charge anything they want to"
While I took this picture with my crappy phone camera a cop walked up right behind me and gave me the evil eye. Maybe he thought I was packing or something.
